The 2.4GHz wireless remote control uses radio frequency (RF) communication and requires a dedicated receiver plugged into the host's USB port for signal relay. When the host (such as a TV box) is completely powered off, the USB port receives no power, the receiver cannot function, and therefore cannot receive any remote control signals, including power-on commands. This is a common technical limitation of all 2.4GHz remote control systems and is unrelated to product quality. In contrast, while infrared remote controls require aiming, some devices support an 'infrared wake-up' function; 2.4GHz remote controls do not inherently possess this capability unless the device has an additional low-power standby circuit (which this product does not have).
