The CR2016 is a 3V lithium coin-cell battery commonly used as a CMOS battery in slim laptops and compact devices. It measures 20 mm in diameter and is just 1.6 mm thick. It powers the motherboard's BIOS chip to safely retain system dates, times, and hardware settings.
